In the snooker world, century breaks are regarded as the highest skill level. A century break is a period of 25 consecutive balls during which the player is capable to pot at minimum 100 points. The maximum break is of 147. A few players have managed to get even bigger breaks.

Alex Higgins is regarded as one of the most remarkable comeback stories in the history snooker. In the 2021-22 season, there are two players who have broken the century break mark. Daniel Wells, Ding Junhui, and Ding Junhui have each reached the century mark in one match. Both went on to win their respective World titles.


Stephen Hendry is the greatest amateur snooker player. He won the UK Championship in his 15th year and was ranked world's youngest amateur champion. He retired today, having accumulated 36 ranked title.

Steve Davis was one the greatest snooker players in the 1980s and 1990s. He held the World Championship title for 15 consecutive years during his peak. He held the number 1 rank for seven years before he retired.

Stacey Hillyard is another snooker legend. She holds the record in single matches for the most centuries. She has won five professional tournaments, and she achieved the most centuries in a single season in 1994. This includes a match against Kyren White with a break of 114.

Joe Davis and Willie Thorne are among the notable names on the list. Michael White is one of many snooker professionals to have compiled a total of over 500 breaks. Jimmy White and Anthony Hamilton are others.

Many other players have collected a total 100 centuries in their snooker lives. The above-mentioned list is regularly updated to include players that have passed the 80 mark. Players who are tied by the most centuries won't be sorted.
