A pool league consists of two teams and a set of rules. The BCA (Billiards Congress of America), offers many different billiards rules. Some are more common than others. The majority of the rules are pretty similar. If you want to play in a league, you need to get familiar with its rules and regulations. Fortunately, there are several organizations in North America that offer competitive pool. There are many tournaments held each year. However, the WPBA Tour has the most participants.

One of the many perks of being in a league is your ability to switch players. This is called a roster change and is allowed up to the tenth week of play. Talk to a league officer for more information. To do so, fill out a signup sheet with your contact information, email address, name and number. After the roster has been finalized, you will need to pay the dues. All payments are due at least one weeks in advance and will be accepted by credit card or check.

A pool league has a code that all members must adhere to. At all times, players must be professional and courteous. Disruptive behavior can result in the forfeiture of the match. All players must report any violations before they can attempt to play. Although the BCA prohibits players from arguing during playoffs it does allow for good intentions to have a negative impact.

The rules of pool generally remain the same. It is best to pick a format that suits you best. You may find the competition to be more intense than your expectations depending on how many of your teammates are participating. Make sure you select the right rulebook for your level. APA is one league that's more accommodating, but you still need to know some of the rules.

As with any pool rule, it is important that you don't overdo things. It is important to leave a lasting impression on your opponents. You can give some tips and tricks to new players. At the very least, you can mention to them that they are the first to call in infractions, and that they have to do so in a way that won't cause them to miss their next shot.
