The Billiard Congress of America is a national organization that promotes billiards and organizes pool players. It is located in Broomfield Colorado with a representative in Atlanta Georgia. The BCA, as an organization, is involved in all aspects of the sport and has played a major role in the promotion and development of 3-Cushion billiards and snooker.
The BCA is also a governing body that is tasked with overseeing and providing input on the rules and specifications of games and tournaments. BCA has a significant role in the sanctioning of tournaments. It also offers education resources and leadership opportunities that promote the game and pool.
The BCA is a major promoter of pool and has been an organizer of billiards in the United States for over a century. The organization promotes pool by offering leadership opportunities and education, as well as scholarships that support the next generation. The Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame is also maintained by the organization. It recognizes outstanding players as well as contributors.
The Official Rules and Records Book was one of its many activities. It contains the standardized rules used in the World Pool-Billiard Assocation (WPA). It also provides a guide that explains the rules for various other games. The U.S. Open14.1 Championships are promoted by the BCA.
The BCA also supports and sanctions championship tournaments. It is the governing body for American pocket billiards. Every year, BCA holds a tradeshow that displays a wide variety products including billiards barstools, casual furnishings, and other cues.

While the BCA isn't as concerned with league play as the Billiards Association of America(APA), it is still a major supporter of the sport. It offers education resources, leadership opportunities, referral services, and other support.
