It has grown to be the world's biggest amateur pool league with 36 members and 36 countries. VNEA generates a boatload in revenue and is also an amusement-business. Aside from playing in local leagues and competing in the Valley National 8-Ball League Association's world championships, players can also participate in Valley National 8-Ball League Association. These championships are held every year from May 27 to June 5.
Players can compete in leagues based upon their skill level as a member or associate of the Valley National 8-Ball League Association. Each league has an administrator who collects the fees and maintains score sheets. The captain also coordinates the team's activities, while ensuring that all members of the team understand the rules of the game. The captain assists the team in preparing for events and is responsible to collect scores.

The VNEA has a reputation for promoting good sportsmanship. VNEA members have voted to award the Sportsmanship Award. Players have been recognized for their efforts. The league also promotes business for its sponsoring locations. VNEA members can access assistance through the operator network. LeagueSMART offers software, increased revenue, and table control. The league also provides a variety of league materials, including score sheets, table markers, envelopes, and other supplies.
VNEA Pool Leagues offer friendly competition and players will be playing against each other in round-robin format matches. Players must use 7 by 3,5 ft "bar boxes" coin-operated pool tables. These tables are smaller than 9 x 4.5 ft regulations tables. VNEA leagues regularly organize non-team individual tournaments. This is a great way to meet the best local players.
The VNEA has honored players for their contributions to the pool league in the past. Caela Gibson is one of these players. She has been involved in the league's inception since 1999. She has won many titles at VNEA World Championships. She has also won numerous tournament titles, including Singles, Team events, and Women's Regular 8-Ball Singles. She has been an active advocate for the VNEA of Colorado. She has been a top fundraiser in the Gene Pool league the last two years. She has organized numerous benefit events for cancer research as well as street children.

Shane Bloomberg, a pool player with a long, impressive history in VNEA, is another. He is the grandson of Jeanie (Gary) Bloomberg. Shane was an active participant in the VNEA from the age of nine. He has gone on to become one of the best pool players in the world. He is a regular competitor in the Pro Tour. He will likely be named Player-of-the-Decade in 2020.
